Vice Chair: Alisha Faraz

Hello! My name is Alisha Faraz, and I have been a student at Khan Lab School for 8 years. I have a lot of interests! I really enjoy writing, coding, and spending time with my friends! I love watching classic Disney movies (my favorite is Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast), and I am huge fan of mystery novels (my latest favorite is A Good Girl's Guide to Murder), so if you want to talk about anything related to school (especially anything CS-related!), movies, or books, I'm here!

I have a lot of both advocacy and leadership experience. I have been at the school for 8 years, so I am familiar with its environment, and I have been on the Leadership Team for 6 years, on every subgroup (including Community Meeting and Events), so I know what each subgroup on leadership requires. I worked on the Student Advocacy subgroup on past projects like scheduling, the Villa Square, Workload surveys, and I am currently leading the group developing the Peer Mentorship program. Furthermore, I have leadership experience on EBI, Robotics, the Khranicle, Frisbee, Mock Trial, and Yearbook.

If I were to be elected, I would develop a new orientation program that will kickoff our Peer Mentorship system and integrate both old and returning students to our community in an engaging and informative way. I would also ensure Leadership Team support for student clubs and initiatives, so students can pursue their own ideas. In addition, I would establish better communication between the Leadership Team and the student body, so that all students are aware of what Leadership is doing, and can be involved in certain projects they are passionate about without having to be a full LT member.
