Business Manager: Vivek Rajdev
Hey! I’m Vivek, a junior who’s into Speech & Debate, economics, data science, and television shows (currently on Modern Family and Young Sheldon). I spend way too much time on Castro--my favorites are Verde, Happy Lemon, Malatang, and Kakaroto. I love meeting new people, swapping ideas, and getting into really interesting ideas. Lately, I’ve been reading a bunch about international relations, so if you’re into that (or just want to talk about TV or boba), I’m your person!
I’ve served on the Leadership Team for the past three years, but more than just attending, I’ve consistently taken initiative to create meaningful, lasting improvements for the student body. I led the Open Campus Initiative, working directly with school administrators to transform limited Castro access into full lunch privileges for all grades. I also formalized the system to ensure its continuity. As President of the Speech and Debate team, I’ve overseen budgeting, secured funding for tournaments and snacks, and brought on a professional coach to support our growth. I also founded the Student Store, implementing contactless payments, reducing prices, and establishing a financially sustainable model. Through close collaboration with the KLS finance team, Cindy, Samantha, and Kate, I’ve developed a clear understanding of how our internal financial systems operate and how to navigate them effectively. My track record reflects a commitment to turning student needs into action, building practical systems, and making KLS a more vibrant, functional, and responsive community.
If elected, I will streamline and accelerate club funding with a clear, standardized request process. These would be sent out in the middle of summer so clubs hit the ground running. I’ll introduce a path for one-time student-led initiatives—so creative ideas like KLS Chocolate Day can be supported without needing to form a club. I plan to implement accessible classroom budgets for prizes, events, and spontaneous celebrations, removing unnecessary delays in the approval process. This would allow classes to access paid materials and also have things like In-N-Out Parties. I’ll also launch a unified Leadership Team merchandise line with consistent branding and elevate student council communication through regular, engaging announcement videos. My goal is simple: make our financial systems work for students—get them cool things, and just reduce financial/administrative barriers.
